All this helps to remind us of the incredible track record of the Abarth 131 Rally, which debuted in Group 4 in 1976 and made a splash in the World Rally Championship for six years (1976 to 1981). The 131 Rally won 18 international rallies - the last success was "run in" in March 1981 at the Rally Portugal by Markku Alén. In addition, the vehicle won the manufacturers' title in the world championship three times (1977, 1978 and 1980), won the FIA Rally Drivers' Cup twice with Alén and was driver world champion with Walter Röhrl last year
