Renault Scenic Vision - Forward-looking drive technology

Quelle: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)

The drive technology of the Scenic Vision is just as forward-looking as the design. The study has a hybrid drive consisting of a state-of-the-art, separately excited synchronous motor with 160 kW/218 hp, a compact battery with a capacity of 40 kWh and a fuel cell with 16 kW/22 hp, which is operated with green hydrogen and energy for charging the battery delivers. The advantage of the electric-hydrogen hybrid technology is the significantly shorter refueling times than required to charge a traction battery. A refueling stop at a hydrogen station can be completed in five minutes, ideal for long journeys. For everyday driving, the Scenic Vision works like a conventional electric vehicle and does not use the fuel cell. For longer distances, a route planner calculates the amount of power that the fuel cell has to take over so that the user does not have to charge the battery. If he parks the vehicle at the destination, he can reconnect it to the charging station. Another advantage of the fuel cell: In cold weather, the system ensures that the battery reaches the optimum operating temperature more quickly
