With its openR screen, the Renault Austral has one of the largest display areas in its class. The info screen in the form of a horizontal "L" combines the landscape-format digital instrument cluster and the portrait-format multimedia monitor to form a total display area of 774 square centimeters. Of this, 453 square centimeters are allotted to the 12-inch (30.5-centimeter) multimedia display and 321 square centimeters to the 12.3-inch (31.2-centimeter) digital instrument cluster. Add to this the high-resolution image projected onto the 9.3-inch (210-square-centimeter) head-up display, and the Austral offers a total display area of 1,000 square centimeters. The screen surface is made of tempered aluminum silicate glass, which combines excellent haptics with high light intensity. Thanks to the additional anti-reflective coating, the openR screen guarantees excellent readability even in full sunlight. Designed for maximum driving comfort and intuitive operation, the openR Link multimedia system offers an exceptional interactive driving experience. The on-board infotainment was developed in cooperation with Google and includes the Google Assistant voice assistant, which controls numerous vehicle and navigation functions on voice command.
