Alfa Romeo Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4 - Efficiency in the service of brand identity

Quelle: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)

The drive system developed exclusively for the new Alfa Romeo Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4 offers maximum efficiency and environmental friendliness. The advanced hybrid system combines a turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor. With four cylinders and MultiAir valve control, the internal combustion engine produces 132 kW (180 hp) of power from a displacement of 1.3 liters. It is coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission and drives the front axle. The electric motor on the rear axle produces 90 kW (corresponding to 122 hp) and a maximum torque of 250 Newton meters. The lithium-ion battery (306 volts) with a capacity of 15.5 kilowatt hours enables an all-electric range of more than 80 kilometers in city traffic only and more than 60 kilometers on average. This makes the new Alfa Romeo Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4 one of the most efficient SUV models with this technology. The fuel consumption of the new Alfa Romeo Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4 is extremely economical, while at the same time emission levels are reduced. The powertrain's battery is fully charged in less than two and a half hours when using the on-board charger, which allows a charging current of up to 7.4 kilowatts. The four-wheel drive system of the new Alfa Romeo Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4 combines the front axle driven by the combustion engine with rear-wheel drive realized by the electric motor. This configuration guarantees the driving pleasure typical of Alfa Romeo, as well as low weight, exemplary agility and high driving dynamics.
