Optimally connected with the Subaru SOLTERRA

Quelle: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)

On the road in the new Subaru SOLTERRA, the occupants are optimally connected: The first electric car from the Japanese all-wheel-drive brand to be offered in Germany sets standards in connectivity. The electric car is the first Subaru model to be equipped with a new infotainment system developed jointly with Toyota. A standard 12.3-inch touchscreen in tablet format serves as the control center: In addition to the telephone, DAB+ digital radio and other audio functions, it also controls the hybrid cloud navigation system, which is also standard and uses real-time traffic information to ensure that routes are always up-to-date and reliable. The smartphone is integrated directly into the vehicle via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, allowing apps and other functions to be used via the central display. The image from the standard 360-degree panoramic camera is also displayed on the touchscreen, which has allowed Subaru to reduce haptic buttons and knobs to a minimum: Directly below the display, there are only a few control panels for the radio, climate control and the heating systems, for example, including the seat and equipment-dependent steering wheel heating. In addition, there are buttons for driving modes, one-pedal driving and co. in the vicinity of the transmission selector as well as the steering wheel control buttons. Many buttonless functions can also be controlled by voice command.
