The ruins of Alcsút Castle

Quelle: FLYING MEDIA (Glomex)

Alcsút Castle is a former royal residence in the village of Alcsút. In the beautiful park and the big English garden you can spend some hours even in autumn or winter. If you stroll through the botanic you will eventually reach the ruins of the castle. The castle, which was completed in 1826, burned down completely in 1945 after the occupation by the Red Army. All that remained was the portal of the castle, the current ruin. A little further behind it you can still find the castle chapel, which is somewhat intact. A piece of Hungarian history while walking through the beautiful nature in Alcsut.
