Historic gas lanterns in London allowed to stay lit

Nearly 300 historic gas lanterns remain in central London. Now, Westminster City Council's plans to equip the lanterns with energy-saving LED lights are off the table for now - a large number of them are to be preserved as a result of a protest campaign.
