The new Mercedes-Benz GLC - The Chassis - Agility and Safety

Quelle: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)

Essential components of the dynamically designed GLC chassis include a new four-link front axle and a multi-link rear axle suspended on a subframe. The base chassis already offers high suspension, rolling, and noise comfort, agile driving characteristics, and driving pleasure. It is equipped with an amplitude-dependent damping system. Optionally, the new GLC can be equipped with the Technology Package, which includes the AIRMATIC air suspension and rear-axle steering. The AIRMATIC features continuously adjustable damping for rebound and compression. Plug-in hybrids come standard with rear axle air suspension and level control. Another optional feature is the Off-Road Technology Package with a 20mm higher ground clearance, front technical underbody protection, and underbody protection. When equipped with the AMG-Line Exterior, the GLC receives a sports suspension. The new GLC drives particularly agile and stable with the optional rear-axle steering and the combined more direct steering ratio at the front axle. The steering angle at the rear axle is up to 4.5 degrees. This reduces the turning circle by 90 centimeters to 10.9 meters. In addition, the driver also needs fewer turns of the steering wheel for full lock.
