Renault Austral - More safety and driving fun

Quelle: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)

The new Austral will be equipped with the third generation of Renault's all-wheel steering system: 4CONTROL Advanced enables a high level of driving comfort, agility and safety. The new Austral with 4CONTROL Advanced all-wheel steering features a multi-link rear axle that provides handling, comfort and stability in all road conditions. On poor roads, the vertical movement of the wheels better compensates for irregularities in the road surface, improving handling and comfort. It also reduces noise levels. The maximum steering angle at the rear wheels is 5 degrees, compared with 3.5 degrees in the previous generation. This gives the Austral a turning circle of just 10.1 meters. In addition, up to 32 driver assistance systems in the Renault Austral ensure a high level of safety and enhanced driving comfort. Active Driver Assist is the further development of the freeway and traffic jam assistant. Like the latter, the level two assistance system ("partially automated driving") can take over the vehicle completely and steer it independently on straight stretches and in gentle curves within certain limits. With Active Driver Assist, this no longer works only on highways or multi-lane roads with lane markings, but also in the absence of lane markings on the right-hand side of the road, as is often the case on rural roads, for example.
