Allgäu: sleet in the valley - 15cm of fresh snow in Balderschwang

Since last night, winter has now also arrived in the Allgäu. While there was only a sleet in the valleys between Oberstdorf and Kempten, it has snowed in the high altitudes. At the Riedbergpass fell in the night from Sunday to Monday about 18cm of fresh snow, in Balderschwang it has been almost 15cm of fresh snow. It was not cold during the night, the temperatures were just minus 4 degrees. Who wanted to go over the Riedbgerpass to Balderschwang, could drive Germany's highest pass road only with suitable winter equipment. Even if the clearing service was there since the early morning in continuous use, by the partly strong wind, snow was blown again and again on the roads and made these partly mirror-smooth. Whether the snow remains lying is not yet certain, in the next few days it should be warmer again in Balderschwang with just under 5 degrees.
