Typical of Volvo is the high level of safety. However, the new Volvo EX90 goes further than any Volvo before, understanding both the driver and the vehicle's surroundings. All occupants, but also other road users, are thus protected in the best possible way. Through permanent learning and regular updates, the premium SUV becomes increasingly intelligent and safer over time. The latest sensor technology inside and out forms an invisible protective shield and reacts to dangers at lightning speed. The combination of cameras, radar and lidar is linked to NVIDIA DRIVE high-performance computers and Volvo's own software to create a 360-degree real-time view of the surroundings. The Lidar (Light Detection and Ranging) sensor integrated into the roofline observes the road ahead - and does so reliably during the day and night, even at higher highway speeds, regardless of the incidence of light. Objects are detected hundreds of meters in advance, giving more time to inform, act and avoid. The sensors also help improve the reliability and overall performance of Pilot Assist, which now also helps with lane changes with a new steering assist feature.
