The new BMW X7 - Holistic focus on sustainability

Quelle: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)

The BMW Group has defined ambitious sustainability targets in its corporate strategy. These are pursued in a holistic approach across the entire vehicle lifecycle. The new BMW X7 also makes its contribution to this in the form of sustainability measures relating to material selection, production and the efficiency of drive technology, among other things. In the area of purchasing, the focus is on compliance with environmental and social standards as well as respect for human rights, the protection of natural resources and the reduction of CO2 emissions. Electricity generated from renewable sources is used for vehicle production at the BMW Group plant in Spartanburg. In addition, BMW is making greater use of secondary raw materials. For example, in the new BMW X7, the air ducts for the brake system, radiator and rear heating are made of 50 percent recycled plastic, and the cable ducts are made of 100 percent recycled plastic. The luggage compartment trim is also made entirely of recycled plastic.
