DS Automobiles offers the new DS 3 with three different types of drive: Electric, Gasoline and Diesel. The new DS 3 E-Tense gets an all-new electric motor (assembled in Trémery-Metz), a reduction gearbox (manufactured in Valenciennes) and a new battery (produced in Poissy) to increase power and range. The new hybrid synchronous motor (HSM) benefits from know-how acquired in Formula E to achieve high efficiency. It offers 115 kW (156 hp) of power and 260 Nm of torque at a voltage of 400 volts. The new 54 kWh battery (51 kWh net usable) features thermal management through fluid circulation and a heat pump, which allows fast recharging, increased range and longer life. The standard onboard charger is rated at 100 kW for DC (10 to 80% charge in 30 minutes possible) and 11 kW for AC (0 to 100% in 5 hours and 45 minutes). In addition, the architecture has been optimized. Thanks to the improved energy density, the battery is very compact and installed under the front and rear seats and the center tunnel. Handling and driving position are absolutely identical to those of other drives and shock resistance exceeds the most stringent requirements.
