The new DS 3 - French-made electric motor and French-assembled battery

Quelle: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)

The improved vehicle architecture of the new DS 3 E-Tense features all-new components, all made or assembled in France to significantly improve efficiency and performance. The new electric motor is manufactured in Trémery, Grand-Est in northeastern France. With an output of 115 kW (156 hp) and a torque of 260 Nm, this powertrain introduces six-pole technology - for a better balance between power and efficiency - as well as a multi-strand coil for better efficiency and power density. The housing benefits from a historic wax casting technology that allows the cooling circuit to be installed in one piece, resulting in greater compactness and the absence of seams, thus increasing reliability. The battery has a total capacity of 54 kWh with a usable capacity of 51 kWh. The very compact battery, housed under the seats and in the center tunnel, uses more efficient technology with an NMC811 composition (80% nickel, 10% manganese and 10% cobalt, distributed over 102 cells and 17 modules). The cooling remains liquid. The battery is produced in Poissy in the Paris region.
