The Norisring race is a flagship event for the city of Nuremberg. That's why the 80th DTM race is to be held again this year from July 7 to 9 - despite the energy crisis. Criticism of the traditional race and the climate-unfriendly emission of several thousand liters of fuel are not keeping the organizers from holding it. Nevertheless, environmental measures had been taken to make the race more sustainable in the future. The approximately 135,000 expected motor sports fans will have the opportunity to use local public transport free of charge during the race weekend. In addition, the race event will be supplied with green electricity and the first e-cars are expected to drive the races as early as 2024.
