The powerful crossover character of the new Mazda CX-60 also dominates the design of the interior: The striking center console permeates the entire interior from front to rear and reflects the drive layout with longitudinally mounted front engine, new eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. The generous sense of space is underscored by the wide dashboard and the continuous lines that run over the side vents into the door panels. Natural wood, high-quality woven textiles and Japanese craftsmanship: the interior of the new Mazda CX-60 is deeply rooted in Mazda's Japanese heritage and achieves the highest level of workmanship and material quality. Both traditional processes and new techniques are used. Maple wood applications reflect the Japanese aesthetic of hacho wi- der, which strives for asymmetrical balance or intentional irregularities. The different patterns and yarns of the woven fabrics change depending on the incidence of light, and the Japanese sewing technique kakenui reveals the underlying material. The white ambient lighting on the inside of the front and rear doors brings out the colors and textures of the interior surfaces to their best advantage.
