Many people wash their car at the weekend. The cheapest method is with a bucket and sponge. But car washing is not allowed everywhere. Violations can sometimes result in extremely high fines. We explain where you are allowed to wash your car. The Water Resources Act (WHG) provides a rough guideline, but it is not entirely clear. According to it, only things that do not affect the quality of the water may get into the groundwater.
