Polestar 3, the flagship SUV of the Swedish electric performance brand Polestar, receives comprehensive hardware updates for the 2026 model year. The overall performance improves significantly due to the new 800-volt electric architecture with substantial power increase, faster DC charging, and higher computing capacity of the central computer. The 2026 model year marks a technological leap for the Polestar 3 and its SPA2 platform with the introduction of an 800-volt electric architecture. This upgrade enables significantly faster DC charging with a peak power of up to 350 kW. This means that the charging process from 10-80 percent can be completed in just 22 minutes - over 25 percent faster than before. The new architecture also provides increased efficiency of up to six percent in the WLTP cycle and supports the integration of new lithium-ion batteries from supplier CATL: a 92 kWh battery pack for the rear motor version and a 106 kWh battery pack for the dual-motor and performance variants. Along with faster DC charging and higher efficiency, these updates further enhance the already strong long-distance capabilities of the Polestar 3.
