The new Alpine A110 R Ultime - Redesigned Aerodynamics
Quelle: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)
To the agility of the A110 R at low and medium speeds, the new A110 R Ultime adds optimal stability at high speeds. The developers' focus was on optimizing aerodynamics. In the road-legal configuration (0 degrees), the total downforce achieved is 100 kilograms at 275 km/h, which is an increase of 149 kilograms at top speed compared to an A110 R. Of this, 124 kilograms are on the front axle alone, with the rest on the rear. This increases efficiency and stability without causing lift at the front at top speed. Thus, the A110 R Ultime is the only A110 that offers downforce both front and rear, allowing for higher cornering speeds and optimal steering feel. There are also configurations for the racetrack with +2, +4, and +6 degrees. To achieve this result, numerous adjustments were made - starting under the hood, where the heat exchangers are now oriented upwards to direct hot air through the hood. The louvers at the outlet optimize airflow to the spoiler and prevent it from flowing back to the engine intake at the rear side panel. In addition, two Naca channels have been installed in the underbody to cool the components in the front area, especially during track use. The ride height is lower than that of the A110 R. Modifications to the front brake ducts provide improved cooling.
