The Porsche 911 Turbo S - Intelligent Active Aerodynamics
Quelle: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)
A new aerodynamics concept optimizes the cooling and efficiency of the new 911 Turbo S. Active, vertically arranged cooling air flaps in the vehicle front and an active front diffuser, together with the variable lip of the front spoiler and the extendable and tiltable rear wing inherited from the predecessor, form an efficient overall system. Cooling air flows optimally to brakes and drive coolers. Depending on the driving situation, the active aerodynamics intelligently reduces lift or, when retracted, reduces air resistance. The drag coefficient of the 911 Turbo S Coupe decreases by ten percent in the most efficient position of all active aerodynamic elements compared to its predecessor. In addition, active aerodynamics improves the wet braking performance of the flagship model: In Wet Mode, the front diffusers close to protect the front brake discs from excessive splash water.
