The new Toyota bZ4X - Modular eTNGA platform

Quelle: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)

The eTNGA platform of the bZ4X - Toyota's global modular architecture specifically designed for battery electric vehicles - combines a highly rigid body with a low center of gravity, creating the conditions for responsive, always controllable driving behavior. Since the new vehicle batteries are 170 mm wider than before, the platform has been equipped with additional reinforcements made of extruded aluminum (EA) to provide additional protection in the event of a side impact. With its modular design, the eTNGA can serve as a platform for electric vehicles of different types and sizes, capable of accommodating batteries with different dimensions and performance values, as well as front or all-wheel drive. In addition to the bZ4X, Toyota also uses the platform for the new C-HR+. The flexible trunk has a two-stage loading floor that can raise the loading height by 71 mm; there is an additional storage compartment under the floor. With the rear seats upright and the loading floor in the lower position, up to 452 liters of loading volume (VDA) are available. When the rear seats are folded down, the cargo volume increases to around 1500 liters. Under the cargo cover are a tool kit and space for charging cables and a warning triangle; the foldable cargo cover can also be stowed away.
