Suzuki GSX-10R - Passion and limitless sportiness

Quelle: AutoMotoTV Int. (Glomex)

The GSX-10R has been developed under the concept FUN. UNLIMITED., a sportbike designed for maximum performance without sacrificing everyday practicality. Behind it is the team responsible for Suzuki's flagship models, featuring members with extensive competition experience. The result targets both riders seeking a demanding sportbike and those who simply enjoy its aesthetics or are stepping up from middleweight sportbikes. Its engine is a 999 cc liquid-cooled inline-four with DOHC valve timing, based on the K5 powertrain that achieved victories in Superbike and endurance racing. For this bike, the oil passages have been revised to enhance reliability. The S.I.R.S. on the GSX-10R incorporates 15 electronic control systems to support the rider both on the track and on the street. Debuting for Suzuki among these features are slide control, which detects lateral skidding while cornering and intervenes just enough to maintain a natural turn, and brake hold control, which, unlike traditional hill hold, also works on flat ground and downhill slopes. The GSX-10R adopts a forward-leaning riding position similar to that of the GSX-R1000R, featuring a reinforced frame built to withstand track use and a maximum lean angle of 53°, compared to 48° on the GSX-S1000. The 18-liter fuel tank, flatter seat, radial master cylinder, and 190/55 ZR17 rear tire complete a chassis fine-tuned with input from GSX-R test riders.
