Insolvency pay for Galeria employees: Restrictions on shopping

Employees of the once again insolvent department store chain Galeria are now to receive insolvency pay. In total, the salaries of all 11,250 employees amount to almost 25 million euros per month. In order for the money to be paid out as quickly as possible, a bank is now to pre-finance the payment for 9,650 employees. A separate insolvency application must be made for the remaining employees. The operation in the 83 branches, including those in Nuremberg and Erlangen, will continue for the time being, albeit with some restrictions. Because individual areas of the department store are cordoned off with tape and not available for sale. It remains open whether and which locations will have to close in the future.
