Bavaria's economy sold more goods abroad in the first half of 2026: Exports increased by 2.7 percent to over 117 billion euros. However, imports increased even more - by 6.1 percent to over 119 billion euros. Business with the EU performed particularly well: Exports to the EU increased by 9.5 percent. In contrast, exports to the USA decreased by 9.5 percent. The auto export continues to weaken: The value of exported cars and motorhomes decreased by almost twelve percent. Significantly more imports came from the USA, Taiwan, and the UK. The import value of crude oil and natural gas alone increased by almost 39 percent. The main reason for this is the sharp price increase.
