Approximately every hundredth person in Germany is affected by an autism spectrum disorder. The severity and form vary from case to case. And up to 5 percent of all Germans suffer from ADHD, an attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Affected individuals can quickly become overwhelmed, for example, when many sensory impressions affect them. A place that particularly stimulates the senses and that people can hardly avoid in everyday life is the supermarket. Some food retailers have therefore introduced so-called 'Quiet Hours.'
