New Corona rules on mandatory masks in trains and planes

A new Corona regulation will apply in Lower Saxony from Saturday (October 1, 2022). As of Saturday, FFP2 masks no longer have to be worn on public transport. According to the Ministry of Health, a simple surgical mask will suffice. The state recommends that citizens continue to wear an FFP2 mask voluntarily. The number of infected people has increased significantly in recent weeks. Federal rules are also changing: long-distance rail travel will continue to require FFP2 masks. In airplanes, masks no longer have to be worn at all as of October.
