In the next 14 months, a specialized clinic with at least eight operating rooms is to be built here - as a replacement for the current building. In addition, the number of beds available for patients is not sufficient for the number of patients. Since 2017, the number of patients has increased by 44%. However, the expansion of clinics in the region is an exception. Many of the regional hospitals such as Schwabach, Neuendettelsau, Rothenburg, or Dinkelsbühl are on the verge of closure. Reasons for this development include a shortage of skilled workers and operating costs.
