The city of Nuremberg takes stock of the summer of 2026. After five heat warnings for the Nuremberg area and heat warning periods of up to eleven days, the city looks positively at the services offered. In addition to various information services, 31 stationary drinking fountains with signposts and mist lances for cooling were also provided. The city also focuses on raising awareness among the population. Long-term plans to reduce heat periods were not presented. The results of the evaluation of meteorological data from the summer will be discussed in the first half of 2027 in the Committee for Environment, Climate and Nature Conservation.
