Request in the Bavarian State Parliament: Violence against local politicians in Bavaria is decreasing

The numbers of politically motivated crimes against Bavarian local politicians have decreased. In 2025, there were 125 incidents. Compared to the previous year, this was about a quarter fewer offenses. The number of violent attacks against local politicians has also halved. In 2025, seven attacks were registered. The Greens in the Bavarian State Parliament, however, warn against complacency. They demand better protection, especially in dealing with digital hate.
