After Heatwave Summer: Nuremberg to Adjust Climate Concept

Nuremberg aims to better prepare against the consequences of climate change. Following severe storm damages in the summer, the city is planning a comprehensive climate adaptation concept. This is intended to include the securing and maintenance of green, open, and water areas, as well as improved handling of rainwater and measures against extreme weather. Existing strategies will be collected and specific measures prioritized. The environmental administration aims to develop the concept by the end of 2027. The new concept is intended to raise awareness among the population about the consequences of climate change. The implementation of the planned measures depends on the available financial and personnel resources.
