Between love for nature and homeland: Stay or move? The Chemnitz region, the Ore Mountains, Vogtland, Zwickau, and Central Saxony offer young people a special mix of closeness to nature and attachment to their homeland. However, challenges such as lack of infrastructure or limited career prospects often raise the crucial question: Should they stay or move? We, the young editors of the Freie Presse, have intensively dealt with this topic. In numerous conversations with a variety of people from the region, exciting insights and personal stories have emerged, showing how diverse the answers to this question can be.
