When we are on vacation, we often get lost in what we experience, making us vulnerable targets for scammers. According to Reddit users, taxi drivers often scam tourists by taking longer routes to charge more for a short ride. When visiting a new city and using a taxi, it is advisable not to appear too unfamiliar with the area, as some drivers may take advantage of this. Another common scam is street musicians offering a 'free' CD and then pressuring for a donation, creating an uncomfortable situation. In restaurants, you can easily fall into a trap when charged too much for cheap food or pressured to tip. They can also trick you by listing the dishes on the menu in grams, so you do not know the total cost until the bill arrives. In busy cities, you may become a victim of people dressing up for photo opportunities and demanding payment after taking a photo with you. In this case, make sure to agree on a price before taking the photo so you do not have to overpay.
