ChatGPT as Therapist? Warning: AI is not Therapy
Quelle: VIDEOELEPHANT (Glomex)
More and more young people confide in ChatGPT with personal problems, fears, and relationships, as if it were a therapist. This is because he is always available, does not judge, and provides immediate responses: But it should be made clear that ChatGPT is not a therapist. He is an algorithm that generates responses based on a variety of data and statistics for which he was trained, without deeply understanding what he is saying. The words he uses are calculated based on a more coherent language. He does not respond objectively, but based on what you want to hear. Therefore, it is not only a mistake but also harmful for those who do not confide in a therapist, believing that ChatGPT is an alternative to a therapist. Therapy works precisely because of the human relationship: a space where the therapist listens attentively and perceives nuances that a machine cannot capture. Human contact is irreplaceable. It is important for young people to understand these boundaries. Talking is important, but a real dialogue takes time, looks, and human closeness. This does not mean that ChatGPT is useless. He can provide insights, stimulate reflection, or search for information. But it is not suitable for psychological treatment.
