Share Solar Power with Neighbors: New Energy Law to Come

Energy Sharing means that anyone who generates excess electricity can resell it to neighbors. An EU directive already includes the use of Energy Sharing and is set to be implemented across the EU from July 2026 – including in Germany. According to a 2022 study by the German Energy Agency, Energy Sharing could cover up to 73% of Germany's total electricity demand.
