Which churches are still needed: From 2027, the number of buildings is to be halved

The church is supposed to be a house made of living stones according to the Bible. However, according to the Evangelical Church in Bavaria, there were nearly 2 million Protestants by December 31, 2024 – 2.8 percent fewer than the previous year. In view of this development, the question arises: Which churches are still needed? Therefore, the Protestant regional church has decided to review this by the end of 2026 – also in Nuremberg.
