Kirwatanz-Marathon: Eight Hours of Bavarian and Zwiefache Dances

Quelle: OBERPFALZ (Glomex)

The Kirwa (church consecration festival) in the district of Amberg-Sulzbach (Bavaria) has been recognized as intangible cultural heritage since 2023: reason enough to celebrate the traditional dances for the second time with a Kirwatanz-Marathon. Participants dance waltzes, Bavarian dances, and Zwiefache for eight hours at the cultural castle Theuern. And just like in the tree dance-off at the Kirwa, they determine a winning couple at the end.
