Serious accident on the A6 near Hockenheim - Car flips over!

Hockenheim: On Sunday afternoon around 5:50 p.m., a traffic accident involving two vehicles occurred on the A6 motorway in the direction of Mannheim, at the Hockenheim motorway triangle. A 29-year-old VW driver overtook an Opel driving on the right lane and touched the vehicle. As a result, the 34-year-old Opel driver lost control, flipped over, and ended up on its roof. The VW driver and the three occupants of the Opel, including a 2-year-old child, suffered minor injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals. The road had to be fully closed for about 40 minutes to allow a rescue helicopter to land. Subsequently, traffic was directed single file past the accident site on the left lane. The accident investigation and recovery work lasted until around 8:00 p.m. Both vehicles had to be towed away. The estimated property damage amounts to around 20,000 euros. The accident investigation was carried out by the Walldorf motorway police.
