Crocodile defends hippo carcass from hungry hyenas

In the Maasai Mara, Kenya, on September 3, 2025, a lone crocodile was caught on camera fiercely protecting a hippo carcass from a pack of nine hyenas. Wildlife guide Evans Kimojino filmed the rare standoff as the hyenas circled cautiously, unwilling to challenge the massive reptile.
