Earthquake shakes shop in Indonesia

Papua, Indonesia on October 16, 2025, a magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck near Jayapura City, shaking buildings and sending goods tumbling inside a local supermarket. Footage shows boxes and items crashing to the ground as customers scrambled for safety during the tremor. The quake, recorded 200 kilometres offshore at a depth of 35 kilometres, caused panic but no tsunami alert was issued.
