Surfin' bird! Lazy seagull hitches a ride on a whale shark

A seagull off the coast of California enjoyed a truly unique ride in early October. The seabird seemed to stand effortlessly on the water. The lazy bird had chosen a whale shark swimming just below the surface as its means of transport.
