Russell Brand has pleaded 'not guilty' to the charges of rape, indecent assault, oral rape, and sexual coercion. Brand appeared before the Southwark Crown Court and only spoke to confirm his name and enter a plea of not guilty. The 49-year-old comedian from Buckinghamshire faces five charges involving four women and alleged incidents between 1999 and 2005. Brand is accused of forcibly touching the women, including dragging one into a men's toilet and grabbing another woman's breasts. At a previous hearing, Brand was present as details emerged of the allegation that he raped a woman during a political conference of the Labour Party in a hotel room. The accusations came to light after an investigation by Channel 4 and the Sunday Times, during which several women came forward. Brand has denied any wrongdoing. In a post on X, he wrote that he welcomed 'the opportunity to prove my innocence' in court.
