Blake Lively is attempting to withdraw her lawsuits against director Justin Baldoni for inflicting emotional distress (IED) in their ongoing legal battle. Baldoni's team had requested Lively's medical records and therapy notes to defend against her claims of 'severe emotional suffering and pain... and mental anguish.' According to court documents, Lively's team has informed Baldoni in writing that she is withdrawing the lawsuits but requested them to be dismissed without prejudice so she can refile them. Baldoni's lawyers have rejected this, stating, 'Ms. Lively wants to simultaneously ... refuse to disclose the information' and 'reserve the right to refile her IED lawsuits.' His team is asking the court to either compel Lively to provide her medical records or dismiss the lawsuits as barred from being refiled. Lively's lawyers referred to the lawsuit filing as 'media frenzy' and said they would merely 'streamline and consolidate' the case. Baldoni's lawyers declined to comment. The court will now decide whether Lively must provide her medical records or if she will be allowed to withdraw the claims. The complaints were a central point in Lively's December lawsuit, in which she also accuses Baldoni of sexual harassment, retaliation, and a smear campaign against her. Baldoni has countersued Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds for $400 million for alleged defamation and attempted extortion.
