A judge dismissed four claims in a civil lawsuit filed by former assistant Asta Jonasson against actor Vin Diesel. Jonasson claimed that Diesel sexually harassed her in his hotel room in 2010 during the filming of 'Fast Five', shortly after she was hired. She alleges that the alleged incident occurred a week after her hiring and she was fired the next day after resisting Diesel's advances. The actor, according to his lawyers, 'generally and expressly denied each and every allegation' made by Jonasson. Jonasson filed the lawsuit under California law AB 2777, which allows older claims of personal misconduct to proceed despite the usual statute of limitations. She also made claims under the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), which requires a complaint to be promptly filed with the California civil rights agency. Diesel's lawyers argued that her FEHA complaint was filed too late, after the one-year deadline had passed. The court agreed and dismissed the four FEHA-related claims as 'time-barred'. However, Diesel still faces lawsuits for sexual assault and wrongful termination in the ongoing proceedings.
