Saoirse Ronan will portray Linda McCartney in Beatles biopic film

Saoirse Ronan will play Linda McCartney in the Beatles biopic series directed by Sam Mendes, alongside Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney. Linda married Paul in 1969 and later joined his band Wings as a keyboardist and background singer. She died of cancer in 1998. John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr will be portrayed by Harris Dickinson, Joseph Quinn, and Barry Keoghan. Mendes will direct four films, each told from the perspective of a different band member, depicting their rise, fame, and the 1970 breakup. It is unclear how often Ronan's character will appear in the other three films. All four films are set to be released in theaters in April 2028. Sony's producers describe it as the "first binge-worthy cinema experience." The exact release schedule is not yet known. McCartney, Starr, and the families of Lennon and Harrison have all fully released music and life rights, making these films the first officially authorized Beatles biopics. Ronan most recently appeared in the film "The Outrun," which she also produced. In 2024, she starred in Steve McQueen's "Blitz."
