Hollywood mourns Diane Keaton, the beloved Oscar winner who recently passed away at the age of 79. Stars and colleagues paid tribute to her life and legacy. Disgraced director Woody Allen honored Keaton in the Free Press, saying: "She was like no one else this planet has ever seen [...] her face and her laughter lit up every room she entered." He recalled their decades-long collaboration, from "Annie Hall" to "Manhattan," calling her "unique in her talent and a friend." At her "Shine Away" conference, Reese Witherspoon said tearfully: "She was one of my first mentors. She was really important to me." Francis Ford Coppola wrote: "Words are not enough to describe the wonder and talent of Diane Keaton. Endlessly intelligent, so beautiful," recalling his leading lady from The Godfather. Steve Martin posted a memory on Instagram of an old interview: Keaton was asked who was sexier, Steve Martin or Martin Short. She replied: "I mean, you're both idiots." Martin commented on the post, saying, "It sums up our wonderful relationship with Diane," capturing the humor and warmth they shared on and off the screen. "Book Club" co-star Jane Fonda shared a photo of Keaton and wrote: "She was always a spark of life [...] she constantly giggled about her own weaknesses and was endlessly creative."
