Flamengo has been eliminated from the Club World Cup. In an exciting match, the Rubro-Negro was defeated 4-2 by Bayern Munich on Sunday (29th) in Miami and was thus eliminated in the round of 16. The German team got off to a flying start: Pulgar scored an own goal in the fifth minute, Kane added another shortly after. Gerson reduced the deficit with a spectacular goal, but Goretzka scored the third goal for Bayern just before halftime. In the second half, Flamengo put more pressure and Jorginho scored a penalty to bring them closer. However, the hope did not last long: Kane scored the fourth goal for Bayern, sealing the victory. The team from Rio de Janeiro fought until the end but could not turn the result around. With this victory, Bayern advances to the quarterfinals and will face PSG in Atlanta next Saturday (5th). Flamengo, like Botafogo, returns to Brazil eliminated. Midfielder Erick Pulgar, who conceded a goal in the first half, had to leave the field with a suspected broken right foot. With this defeat, Flamengo's dream of shining on the world stage has been shattered.
