Aryna Sabalenka came back from a set down, defeated Laura Siegemund, and advanced to the Wimbledon semifinals. Sabalenka, who twice recovered from a break deficit in the deciding set, won 4:6, 6:2, 6:4, defeating the 37-year-old German. "After the first set, I looked at my box and thought, 'book the tickets, we're leaving soon.' I had to make sure I didn't show that I was upset with her - even though I was a little, I didn't want to give her that energy," said Aryna Sabalenka. Siegemund started the match quickly and caught Sabalenka off guard. The world number one held her serve only once in the first set. Sabalenka fell behind with a double break, and although she brought Siegemund back, the 27-year-old was a set up after 57 minutes. The Belarusian took a 2-0 lead in the second set, but gave the break back to Siegemund, who seemed to be on her way to her first Grand Slam semifinal. Sabalenka fell behind again in her next service game, but fought back to secure a crucial game before winning four games in a row and taking the second set. The three-time Grand Slam champion fell behind 1-3 in the final set before breaking back and giving Siegemund another service game. But Sabalenka fought back and equalized the deficit by taking Siegemund's serve and securing the victory.
