Right to Repair: In the Allgäu, there is still a need for clarification

According to figures from the Federal Environment Agency, around one million tonnes of electronic waste are generated each year. One reason for this is that many electrical appliances are not intended to be repaired by manufacturers. However, this is set to change at the end of July. The Bundestag has passed the Right to Repair, which obliges manufacturers of electrical appliances to repair their devices within the usual lifespan. This implements an EU directive. The goal is to repair rather than discard. Such repair work is likely to be carried out by smaller businesses as well. We visited one in Wertach.
