Safety check taking longer: Nuremberg-Regensburg railway line remains closed

The reopening of the Nuremberg–Regensburg line is delayed due to a longer safety check of the new signal box technology. While tracks, switches, and overhead lines are ready, the line will remain closed for the time being. Deutsche Bahn expects continuous train service to resume by the start of the Bavarian summer holidays on July 31. Until then, the existing detours in long-distance and freight traffic and the rail replacement service with buses in local transport will remain in place.
