Dispersed Operations: Luftwaffe trains at Nuremberg Airport

A final flyover and radio coordination with the tower, then the first Eurofighter lands on the runway of Albrecht Dürer Airport. In the coming days, a total of 74 more takeoffs and landings are planned at the airport. Today, only three of the four aircraft that were supposed to land in Nuremberg actually did. The Eurofighters are training together with the airport personnel as part of the 'Dispersed Operations' exercise. For the Luftwaffe, this is the first training at a civilian airport in southern Germany. Previous exercises took place at Hamburg Airport. The option to perform takeoffs and landings on highways as in the Cold War was deliberately not chosen for training. The restrictions on the civilian population would be too great. The goal for the next few days at the airport is clearly defined.
